Ealing MEP Robert Evans will roll up his sleeves and don an apron to help promote naturally produced food next week as the borough marks National Organic Fortnight.
The Labour Euro MP will be handing out tasters of organic veggie food to passing shoppers in a bid to tantalise their taste buds with goodness.
“I am delighted to be involved with organic fortnight and to create awareness about the importance of good food,” Mr Evans said.
London Euro MP Challenges Commission On Live Calf Exports
05 Sep 2006
London Euro MP Robert Evans will challenge the European Commission today to improve the conditions for calves undergoing live export, saying too many are being exported “in appalling conditions through the back door”.
The MEP, a leading campaigner in the European Parliament for animal rights, will also tell the Commission that new EU legislation banning “veal crates” from 2007 does not go far enough and needs immediate attention.
